Ocala Regional Medical Center New Roof Top Helipad, Elevator Extension and Support.

Ocala Regional Medical Center was awarded the local license for a Level II Trauma Center.  This required the addition of a Roof Top Helipad system at the top level of the patient tower along with extension of the elevator to the roof, providing access to and from the helipad and Trauma Center.  Considerable care was taken as the helipad was added with new structural supports over an existing occupied patient floor while also re-roofing this roof section. A entry lobby at the roof level was created for weather protection for the elevator entrance.  A follow up project extended a second elevator at a different location to the room with a weather lobby and extensions to the helipad ramps and walkway systems.  Concurrent projects were undertaken to develop the Level II Trauma Center, alterations to the ED Department, additions and alterations to CT facilities to be accessible to the Trauma Center.
